Yoga is the most peaceful and relaxing exercise that I have ever engaged in.  I was 34, having never done yoga and did not know anything about it.  I was healing my body naturally and feeling very stressed out and ill. I contacted my Naturopathic Doctor and he gave me advice in 2 words and said, “Do yoga.”  I purchased DVD which was yoga for beginners with a 30 minute practice.  The first time I tried to do it I felt frustrated because I did not know exactly the correct way of doing it.  I allowed myself to let the frustration go and just decide that it was ok if I was not doing it perfectly.  After one day of doing this DVD I felt better, less stressed.  I progressively felt calmer, happier and healthier. Yoga helps us use our breath while in engaging in movements and various postures to decrease stress by relaxing the nervous system.  It delivers healing energy to every cell throughout our body, therefore aiding in the healthy functioning of every organ and system throughout our body.  We feel happier, more energized and a greater sense of positive thinking about ourselves and the world around us.  After doing yoga for 2 weeks I loved and believed in it so deeply that I told my husband that I was going to be a yoga teacher one day.  One year later I joined a 200 hour yoga teacher training program and today I am grateful to be a yoga teacher.  I can be contacted for private yoga lessons and group rates.
